It is true that mixing trends is like walking a fine line. Get it right, and you’ve got a super cool outfit but get it wrong and you could end up looking dowdy & drab! I think I got it quite right today with this absolutely fun & dramatic Stripe & Ruffle top from Gap. As you can see the staple stripes have been combined so beautifully and flawlessly with the current ruffles trend. This top is such a great way to combine trends without any of them overpowering or competing with each other. With stripes and ruffles still trending heavily for this spring/summer, I was happy to bring my bit of the trend for my daily wardrobe.
So for today’s look I grabbed this interesting statement blue top and paired it with my Forever 21 flair jeans and my killer nude pumps. It’s almost like my modern, minimal style of dressing that is ssssoooooo ME; I like to call a fool-proof outfit formula! I have received many queries from you guys about why I don’t wear too much of jewelry or even other accessories such as scarfs or designer glasses or even why I do not indulge in too many hair-dos. Well the answer is easy—I like to keep it simple, chic & minimal! It has nothing to do with me not liking too many accessories or me trying to follow a trend; I just like it SIMPLE. What really turns me in is the use of small, basic & interesting elements that add texture & dimension to any look and transform it into something special. Just like this absolutely trendy, feminine, flowy top which is adding so much character to an otherwise basic spring look. Hope you get the point!
