Staying neutral is the best way to dress if you are not sure about your sartorial choices. Neutral & minimal is not just a style in fashion, it is also a way of living. It is simple, chic, uncluttered and always modern. It is also a classic that never fades with changing seasons or changing trends.Think neutral and you think shades of white, black, beige, grey, taupe, ivory, pewter, tan, nude, cream, sand, coffee, khaki,…these are quiet hues that never go out of fashion and blend well together. I cannot even begin to describe how much I love these shades and how 90% of my closet is stuffed with outfits in these colors. So today I bring to you a close, in-depth look of my neutral, minimal style!

When you talk of neutral clothing, you could either mix & match any of the above mentioned shades or wear varying tones of the same spectrum for a more harmonious, tonal look. Today I have curated my top twenty looks in mixed neutral shades of white, black, tan, grey, khaki, taupe, navy & denim. These looks work well during winter, fall/winter as well as other transitional periods. Adding a luxurious camel overcoat, a white fur jacket or a khaki blazer in winter can work wonders and instantly elevate these looks to something more elegant and polished. Talking about specific shades, cream is a practical and more dirt-resistant alternative to white, and both camel and tan are shades of brown that always have a look of luxury. White & black are evergreen classics that spell sophistication & grace like no other color. Shades of brown, black and cream – especially when combined in leopard print – can highlight brighter tones like burgundy, bordeaux, rose and olive. And off-course you can always spruce up your neutral looks with pops of colors in the form of brighter, vibrant accessories.

So while “neutralizing” can mean making something ineffective and reducing its power, it has another meaning entirely when applied to fashion. It is a way of empowering and energizing your personality with the right colors and right silhouettes. And the best part is that a neutral palette doesn’t really date. It’s trans-seasonal, timeless and always trendy….
