One of the simplest ways to add fun & interest to your outfit would be by mixing a punch of crochet. Its one of the finest of fabric styles created using a crochet hook to interlock loops of yarn, thread, or strands of other materials. Relatively intricate as compared to a knit fabric, crochet involves a slightly more meticulous technique thereby resulting in gorgeous fabrics that look edgy & ultra fashionable. Having been bitten by the crochet bug after a long time, I recently styled or rather restyled 3 looks for that casual to semi-formal occasions that are effortless, chic and very modern.

Crochet Long Shrug: Global Desi (Buy similar here & here)

The first one is with a super long asymmetric crochet shrug that has adorned my wardrobe since more than fifteen years now. Though on first look it may seem like a redundant piece of layering considering the summer heat, but I can tell you that it is the one of the most stylish pieces of clothing that has instantly lifted my basic denim & spaghetti top look to another level. One of the most easy peasy ways to add fun & interest to an otherwise basic look. And the fabric being crochet, there is enough ventilation to keep you light & airy.

Navy Crochet Top: Bangkok (Buy similar here)

Now this crochet look screams glam & edgy like no other! It is luxurious, it is fun & definitely a head turner. This navy blue off-shoulder crochet top is one of my favorite tops that I have worn on a repeat for almost the seventh or eighth time now. So if you wish to add a touch of sensuality & statement to your outfit, look no further. This style of crochet top flatters all body types and is super easy to style with denims, long skirts, midis, pants, culottes, etc…I have given it a bohemian edgy twist by adding tan boots and a black shoulder bag. You can also add a lot of accessories & jewelry to make it a lot more dressier.

Beige Crochet Crop Top: ZARA (Buy similar here & here)

And for the third look, its the quintessential beige crochet crop top that is extremely versatile and super easy to style up or down depending upon your mood/ occasion. I have styled it here with a navy linen skirt in order to accentuate the shade of beige against blue. It’s amazing how the crochet work has been beautifully depicted with myriad floral patterns of varying sizes & dimensions. And that little drawstring detail gives this top a definite shape and adds a fun element to it. So if you looking at creating a multifaceted wardrobe that is versatile, functional and adaptable, do remember to include certain crochet pieces in it. It is certainly a fabric style without which your wardrobe is incomplete!
